Calum Caskie (4)

A super way to end the season with two great team performances. In the first match against Haldane United, Caple were on the back foot for the first 10 minutes and some very good goal keeping from Calum Alcorn kept the teams level. Ross opened the scoring with a terrific volley from 25 yards which soared in just under the crossbar. Ellis added a second after some good passing and Jack shot low into the corner to give Caple a 3-0 lead at half time. In the second half Calum Caskie scored from an unbelievably tight angle followed by another fine goal from Jack with Ellis notching his second and Caple were six up. Haldane scored a deserved consolation goal to make the final score 6-1.
In the second match against Renton Calum Caskie put Caple in front in the first minute and then Renton battled back defiantly, eventually equalising before half time. Into the second half and Caple really upped their game. Ross put Joe through and he finished with style. Calum then got his second and Ross broke forward from midfield and finished low into the corner. Calum capped the day with a fine third for his hat trick. A splendid display all round with Lewis and Cameron solid at the back in both matches. Well done to all the boys and all the best for next season when they move on to 11 a side.

Would moving kids' football to a summer game help improve the development of young footballers?
Yes - better pitches mean a better chance to develop technique/skills
No - wouldn't make any real difference to development
Maybe - but I'd be worried about more injuries on firm pitches
